block calculation on JAG3D
by Leslie, Friday, April 13, 2018, 13:20 (313 days ago)
Hello,
I have questions about group compensation for JAG3D, more precisely on block calculation.
Is it possible on JAG3D?
I would like to know how it works.
In fact I have two theodolites and I would like to calculate them together.
I also have 4 common references to the two theodolites with a new point in common.
Would it take several common sensors or not?
Thank you in advance for your answers!

Hello Leslie,
I have questions about group compensation for JAG3D, more precisely on block calculation.
I'm sorry, but I don't know the term block calculation. Can you explain the term?
In fact I have two theodolites and I would like to calculate them together.
Okay, you have to import the observation data from both instruments. Moreover, you have to import/define (approximation) coordinates of the reference points and the new point.

"I'm sorry, but I don't know the term block calculation. Can you explain the term?"
Bulk calculation is to perform a calculation for several theodolites with common sensors that will stabilize the topographic network and allow a better determination of the coordinates of all the sensors.

I tried this, but I have very high ellipses of trusts.
I do not know if it comes from my observations or common sensors.

So, it is just the combination of sensors during the adjustment process, isn't it?

Maybe, you have a wrong configuration, i.e. you haven't divided the directions into separat groups (each group represents a set of directions that has one unknown orientation). Maybe, your stochastic model is not correct. Maybe, there are some outliers... etc.

yes, it is.

Maybe.
Thanks for your answer !

Hello,
Maybe.
I'm sorry, but without any data, nobody will give you a right answer.
regards
Micha
